It was fun!

Well the year is over all the countdowns are in all the joy and lovingness is over. All the christmas lights will come down all the caroling will stop. But if you feel sad think of all the good times we had in 2008 with games like GTAIV and other blockbuster titles such as gears of war 2 or fallout 3. This is a look back at all the great times we had in 2008 and all the big stories

In the begining of 2008 we had the realese of a game that changed the whole gaming industry Grand theft auto 4. With a midnight luanch you couldn't help but get excited for this game! Now with the Downloadable content coming out next year this game just keeps getting better and better. Grand theft auto sold over 5.1 million units which is a ton for a video game.



Grand theft auto 4 also sparked something else in the world of video games. That is video game violence with grand theft autos gameplay as in steal cars, blow up helicopters, kill cops, kill pretty much everything, just about anything you could think of. Many atorneys made a push to ban violent video games such as jack thompson the attorney out of florida. To bad for him he was banned in florida from doing any study of the law. Too bad for jack thompson but jack thompson us video gamers hate you!

One of my favorite things that happened in 2008 were just all the huge blockbuster titles that came out in a span of 2 to 3 months. Games like gears of war 2 , fallout 3, fable II,Left 4 dead, Dead space, resistance 2, little big planet the list goes on and on. Plus all it seems like there was a huge push to produce great indie games such as audiosurf, Braid, castle crasher, world of goo. Finally portable game devices have finally jumped into the world of hardcore with the realese of games like god of war: chains of the olympus, patapon, proffesor layton and the curious village, castlevania, this whole year was just wired and set to blow. All those games just made this yearkeep getting better and better.

So its sad 2008 is coming to a stop but always remember the good times we had waiting outside of gamestop for 4 hours waiting for GTAIV or gears of war 2 or playing games you thought you would never play and falling in love. I'll remember all of this and be proud gamers be proud
