Borderlands review

13 bazzilion guns as it says in the commercial. But is there too much of a good thing? Borderlands the First person Role playing game (FPSRPG) by gearbox studios. This game kinda sorta ran under the radar at events like E3, I've had my eye on this game since the premier trailer, but did this game dissapoint?

First thoughts:
First off the graphics are new and refreshing they took more of a cartoonish feel to it. Next the game is a blast I havn't had fun doing MMO styled quest in so long. This game is a sure buy for the FPS fan and the RPG fan.

Gameplay:
13 BAZILION GUNS! Like advertised, but really there are that many guns as said by the lead devolper at gearbox "Take every gun in every FPS on the 360 and you'll have Borderlands". Now the gameplay is so good, With good FPS controls with RPG elements and a very well played out loot system. With a random Weapon drop, Most people compared this game to Diablo II with the loot system and they are very similar in a good way. A lot of achievments and challenges make the gameplay even better, Gamepay will not let you down in Borderlands.

Campaign:
The stroy in nonexistent with one cutscene the whole game you never get indepth with the characters or the world around you. There's little hints of dialog every now and then but besides that theres nothing your truly fighting for. The story starts as your on he planet pandora looking for the so called "Vault" which in it has riches, power, and many other valuables. It let me down I thought a game that goes so deep in everything else had huge potential for an awesome story line.

Multiplayer:
Co-op has really never been done better than in Borderlands. Get 4 players near the same level and there is really no end to the fun. Few flaws is you can only work on the quest the host of the group has selected, Which if you have beat or are not able to play not be enjoyable too do. Next this game does not encourage sharing its first come first serve which could tick people off if the one guy takes all the weapon drops. The goodd overshadow the bad as for enemies and quest are much harder than just your standard singleplayer. It always helps when you can't beat that one boss and your friends come and take him down toghether, Just stratagizing and working towards your goal makes the co-op experience priceless.

Ending thoughts:
Really if there is a game holding you back from buying this or other reviews taking you away from buying this game, Dont let it its a buy with I would say 60 hours of gameplay and potientially a lot more with DLC on its way you should Definitely check thi out!

Graphics: 8.8
Gameplay: 9.5
Single-player/ Story: 6.0
Multiplayer: 9.0

Overall: 9.0
