Assassins Creed 2 Review

What The Fuck!

Assassins Creed 2 personally from me was very hyped for this game Ubisoft promised a more polished and well put together game, Without the Repetitive nature of the first. When I started this game and read other reviews I was very mixed, Now after playing it let me tell you this game was everything I was hoping for and with probably the craziest/ Weirdest/ Ending that leaves so many questions and wanting so much more this game succeed in every way.



Gameplay:
Probably one of the weakest points in the game is the sheer combat, Other than that the Free run, Flying, swimming, and much more were a blast too play. The Combat with swords is really the only thing that really bothered me, With really not a ton of skill involved it almost dragged the fighting scenes on. Just hold the Right Trigger and wait til they attack to counter, Now that doesn't sound like fun. Other then that they added some fun and innovative game play mechanics. With the coolest assassinations I have seen in a game ever, and different ways to kill your enemy ranging from a pistol, to a poison blade just lots of options to play around with. Also adding new things to ride on including a chariot at one point, and gandulas to ride around the back water ways of Venice. They also added many new things to do as upgrade your small town, Side quest assassinations, New Clothing, Glyphs to find which is essentially another story in itself, and feathers to look for.

Campaign:
Ubisoft realized that the system they had in place in the first Assassins Creed game was broken and repetitive, This is changed and with a very interesting story with great game play moments. As in the first you meet very famous people back in the Renaissance times. Ubisoft makes the story around this, The real story is your a bartender named Desmond who had ancestors in this time period, Using a device called the animus it allows them to travel back and time. You play Etzio in Campaign and as you slowly find out a plot against your family, Your two brothers, and father die. Now you go off to seek revenge against these murderers. Along the way you uncover some mysterious items and such, and you take the spot your father was holding. The games story plays a huge roll in this game and you essentially end up caring about all the characters in the game. The story has some rough spots, but overall very well written and well executed. The game also has many mysterious that either do or don't get uncovered, the subject 16 figure is one of them and will leave another opening for the third installment in this series.

Ending Thoughts:
The game has great game play, A great storyline and a fun way to play through story. Ubisoft worked hard to make an IP that had tons of potential to be great into what it should be. I played 25 hours in 4 days and usually after I just want to move on but with this game I just wanted more and more, Assassins Creed 2 had tons of hype and with an ending that left me speechless in amazement, This game delivered in more ways than one. Lets just say I can't wait for Assassins Creed 3!
