Bioshock 2 the sequel to the award winning game back in 2007. The original had an amazing story with great game play elements, and tough moral decisions to choose in the game. Lot of hype surronding this sequel. Does it fold under pressure and fail or does this game break more boundries as Bioshock did in 2007.
Campaign:
The campaign starts off in a place and time most people aren't familiar with. Your still in Rapture, but you walk amongst citizens of Rapture at a ball or dinner of some sort. Another thing new about the campaign is you don't play Jack the protagonist from the original Bioshock, Instead you play a "Big Daddy". YOur one of the first of your kind the alpha series. Now opening up this new character adds more depth and more new things to play around with. Including the Drill gun and personally my favorite gun in all of Bioshock 2. Now the story is surronded around a new type of character that was never mentioned once in the original, Dr. Sophia Lamb. Delta (The name of the Big Daddy) soon discovers Andrew Ryan has died and a Dr. Lamb supposedly has taken over the rule of Rapture.
She also is the mother of yor little sister Elanor Lamb, and she has big plans for Elanor as you need Elanor to survive. First off lets start with the game play, Bioshock 2 is basically the same game as its predecessors game play wise. The Plasmids return into the game, As well as duel wielding your plasmids and gun in the other hand. Just nlike every other sequel they added customization where you can now upgrade all of your Plasmids and guns three levels before it hits its cap. The characters in this game are very creative and creepy, Alex the great and the new Big Sisters which add intense fighting and a new sense of awarness.
Rapture one of the most creative, imaginative cities in any plot probably ever is back just as it was in Bioshock. Rapture didn't change much and it doesn't have that distinct feel tha tyou had when you first looked at the window into the ocean blue in the original Bioshock. Enviroments are still done extremely well, with the addition of scuba diving at certain points in the game you get to see Rapture at its best.
Things that dissapointed me in this game, The game's plot line still pretty good, but really doesn't accomplish what I think they were going for. The game almost felt repetitive at times where you would find a new character that you could either save or kill, then move onto too the next character. Campaign was a little too short, game starts off with many things that don't make sense and never get answered by the end of the game.
Campaign was well done its no Bioshock, but it still delivers in the campaign with a well written sotry, fun game play, New fun characters and enemies too play around with. Now the ending leading up to that point game had dissapointed me deeply, When I got too the final sequence I felt the rush and the excitment. Seeing how it all played out in the end was vert satisfying, Game showed its true colors in the end.
Multiplayer:
Gonna keep this short it's no Modern Warfare 2 and their is really no hype surrounding this multi player, but it does add replay value to the game. I mean it's not bad by any means just putting in a multi player variant of the game after the original had no such things seems hard to pull off. Lots of customization and a cool way too look at the way you switch your character. They also put in some armor and turrets that switch up the game play and make it more strategic. It's not bad and lets just leave it at that.
